Second Generation 3G iPhone

Posted by princetrunks on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Looks as if the 3G iPhone is only a few months away from being in the stores. Not only will i be 3G but its GPS will be better and also looks like Apple dropped the whole metal back thing. I guess I'm glad I have yet to buy an iPhone. Check out its specs at Engadget. (Picture also thanks to Engadget)

Ikki Tousen: Cerberus Ryomou Shimei Black Maid Outfit

Uart does an amazing job with this 1/7th scale figure of Ryomou Shimei. Scheduled to arrive at my dealer's on Friday, I'll probably snag a few of them. Hopefully the paint job on the mass productions are just as good looking as the pics here. Uart has a good track record and their figures tend to be just as good as Good Smile Company's. She'll probably go right next to my Fighting Sonsaku piece.

Set to arrive in the US in November 08 is the beautiful Miku Hatsune figure by none other than Good Smile Company. If I'm not mistaken, pre-orders of this figure in japan has sold out and for all good reason. Miku is at the moment one of the most popular anime characters in Japan and she's found in many different commercials, specials and the like. Provided are some images from my product dealer. I'll be sure to keep one for my self along with the Nendoroid version too ^_^.

In case you haven't already heard; expert computer engineer Ben Heck created a laptop made out of a Playstation 3 unit. Lots of work was obviously put into it. Weighs over 16 pounds so it might be a bit tough to carry around. Check out more of this masterpiece in computer moding here at the Engadget page. Also check Ben's site for more of his work.

Improved Site Look And Feel

Posted by princetrunks on Sunday, April 27, 2008

A quick look at the site and you can easily see there has been some changes. Gone are the boxes that showed up mainly due to Dreamweaver table glitches and incompatibility between the major browsers. Hopefully now the site looks better on your computer. Most people have a 1024 x 768 resolution so if you have that or larger, the site should be much less cluttered and should fit well on the screen. Sorry if you have a 800x600 screen resolution, you'll have to side scroll a bit but with that resolution or lower I doubt you don't do that for many sites. If you use firefox or IE the site now will look almost 100% identical in both browsers which is not always an easy task.
Hope you guys like it ^_^ Now that the template is more cleaned up, updates and new sections will be even more of a breeze.

New York's Amazon Tax Law & Other Tidbits

Posted by princetrunks on Thursday, April 24, 2008

Here's yet another kind of off-topic item but I'll mention the Anime Store's connection in a bit, plus it has a bit to do with me of all people...well sort of. If you are in the US, you might have heard about the "Amazon Tax". New York State just passed a law that it now has outside retailers charge sales tax to customers in New York state so that they then pay New York for the transactions. Basically, New Yorkers are being forced to shop locally or be taxed. This law is a complete violation of a Supreme Court ruling so we'll see where it goes. The ruling has caused discussion on the local news at News 12 here on Long Island and one of the key speakers is actually my boss in my part-time job. You can see a mug shot of me here at the company's site which I am sadly the webmaster of!! The only reason I say "sadly" is that I have tried to fix the site's 1997 look but office politics prevent me to do so and the site is shown a number of times through-out the talk ~_~;;;
The company I work for has been in business on Long Island for 54 years so they benefit from this new tax law. The anime store here does too, but I honestly feel that New York is overstepping their grounds. If the video of the live talk goes on youtube, you'll see it below.

(I promise, you will see some anime girls and stuff in the upcoming blog posts. ^ ^;)

Al Qaeda Wants to Attack Japan; Otaku, Get Your Katanas Ready

Check out this bit of news straight from CNN. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, Al Qaeda's 2nd religious idiot in command just stated how they are yet again going to attack the west. We heard this numerous times by Al Qaeda but now they are putting Japan in the mix. As both a New Yorker and an Otaku, I'd like to frankly say I'm pissed. I was in my senior year in high school when 9-11 happened and many of my friends lost lots of family members. This blog gets high up in the search engines so if any one of you religious low-lives in Al Qaeda wants a piece of me, I'll gladly fight ~_~.
Most of us otaku have something that many overly religious people of all religious background lack... common sense. For thousands of years too many have lost their lives to evil organizations like Al Qaeda and other religious nuts just because they want to prove their imaginary guy in the sky is less fake than another imaginary guy in the sky.
Of course we all doubt Al Qaeda will do anything since the whole world has their eyes on them but I would love to see a youtube clip of one of them getting beaten by an otaku or just any random person in Japan or here in the US... if they try.

(Pardon the rather strong message in this post. I will be back for more cute anime girl figures and other cool stuff ^ ^;)

Anime Blog Updates To Come + More Anime.fm

Blogger recently started working on scheduled blogs so hopefully if you are reading this, it worked!
Anyways, I'll use this time to state that things are going well with the new anime.fm account. Currently working on making that site fun with hopefully something different than what is out there blog-wise. The old site was a radio station but I'll admit it won't start out as that. It might take longer than next month for it to be up but I'll have something ready by then.

As for this blog, more face-lifting is needed to make it flow better. In my option it looks a bit bunched together and these darn html tables look different in the different browsers.

Gamer Vitamins

Here's some interesting items to come out of Japan. I got a good laugh at this since I run a vitamin distribution business and I'm a gamer. Cybergadget just came out with vitamins for the gaming community shaped like memory cards called Game Sapuri. From the image you can see two different supplements. One is a blueberry supplement which is the highest source of antioxidants and a ton of other benefits while the second one is DHA, which is omega 3 fish oils which are great for brain function and blood flow in which we gamers do need a bunch.

Chucks Anime Shrine Aquires Anime.fm

Posted by princetrunks on Thursday, April 3, 2008
Under: , , ,

No, this is not a late April fools joke. As of today I purchased the domain rights and the space for anime.fm. This site used to be an anime radio station but as one can expect, the bandwidth charges got too much for the former owner. Back before youtube and animemusicvideos.org when Chucks Anime Shrine was one of the very few places you would find amvs, I almost suffered the same fate. As much as I loved that everyone enjoyed our music videos, many people placed them in their forums, on the signatures in their forums and on their xanga (pre-myspace) page. Of course much has changed since 2003 and now web convergence, blogs, rss feeds and streams is the name of the game. The main goal for anime.fm is to make it an anime blog central location linking many anime blogs and the like and yes eventually as the site matures (and after making all the correct legal actions), I do wish to have streaming music from anime and video game titles.
If anyone has any ideas for the new site please pass them over to me. As for past fans of anime.fm, hopefully it is of some relief that an anime fan and site owner took over the site. Too many times I see sites get taken over by some loser domain purchaser who just turns the site into a bland sea of links that are nothing but google adsense links in order to profit from every click on the site. Misspell any popular site and you'll know what I mean.

(I'll also make sure to get a better logo soon too)
