MegaMan 9
Here's yet another game I was meaning to talk about and for those who grew up as gamers in the 80's and early 90's, you're going to love this. Like the Strong Bad game I mentioned, this also a Wiiware game and this one is a vintage gamer's dream from the looks of it (pun intended). This is indeed the sequel to 1996's MegaMan 8 for the Playstation. Yep, this is classic MegaMan vs. Dr. Willy and his gang of messed up robots. Even more amazing in this day and age, its kept the same 8 bit graphics we remember it by. That's correct, its a brand new MegaMan game with old-school graphics. Images of my days playing MegaMan 4 back in 1993 come to mind in lovely retrospect.....anyways this is an artistic choice by the creators that make us "inde" developers know we got a shot. It makes us old-school gamers feel right at home.

I totally agree with you princetrunks. It's awesome that they decided to make the game entirely with that retro vibe. It's a blast to play and you gotta love the 8-bit music.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, do you already have both a PS3 and Xbox 360? If you don't, I suggest you take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on where you can win the system of your choice. Right now there are less than 350 entrants, and all you have to do to enter is design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt. Check out the contest details here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview
By the way, I hope you guys don't mind me commenting on your blog. I work with 6 Hour Power so if you have any questions just ask. Let me know if you guys enter too, and I'd be happy to vote for your designs. Good luck.
